About Me

Hey! Thanks for stopping by. My default name is Sarah (lame) so I have a few IMG_6445other names I go by. You can find me at Burning Man as Foxy, but for the sake of this blog, I go by Glitter Bat. There have been many times in my life when I felt I was bat shit crazy. It turns out at the age of 25 I was officially diagnosed with A.D.H.D. Go figure. This came as a relief because I always knew there had to be a method behind the madness. These things weren’t a character flaw, it is just the way my brain works. It’s time to let my freak flag fly and embrace my batty nature.

IMG_6409 2     I created this blog for the days I’m feeling batty and need a place to put my thoughts. I like to think I have some really great ideas but for the longest time I have withheld them from the world. Being somewhat aloof in person, I find it much easier to communicate in writing.
Now for some random facts about my life! Some of my hobbies include daydreaming, kicking dandelions, watching my cat chase bugs, and people watching. If I’m going to be something that starts with a ‘B’ I’d rather be batty than boring. The mountains are synonymous with sanity in my book and if I could live in a van down by the river like Chris Farley warned us about I would. I tend to be the most productive when I’m expected to do something else of greater importance. Chances are everything you read on my blog will be the product of procrastination. Consistency is also the bane of my existence.

IMG_6408     I have two fur children, Goji and Piper. We currently live in Denver, CO and will be moving to the mountains by the end of the year for obvious reasons. I graduated last year with my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Denver and hope one day to pursue wilderness therapy. In case you are wondering what that is, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Most of my writing here will probably have to do with mental health awareness or making light of my daily struggles. You can also expect to see posts that are completely unrelated to those things since staying on topic is a wishful dream.

I hope my blog brings some humor into your life. If you’re here because you also struggle with A.D.H.D. or P.T.S.D., I hope reading my posts helps you to feel like you’re not alone and to understand or to see things from another perspective. Life is a weird and silly thing. Thanks again for stopping by.
